International friendship cities——friendship across time and space
相知无远近，万里尚为邻。

纵观世界，国际友好城市往来已成为各国间建立友好关系的基石。
The exchanges between international friendship cities have underpinned the establishment of friendly relations between countries.
友城风貌——巴西伯南布哥州累西腓
自1981年成都与蒙彼利埃缔结四川第一对国际友好城市关系以来，四川的国际“朋友圈”不断扩大。截至2021年5月，四川已结成国际友城关系112对、国际友好合作关系280对。
Since 1981, when Chengdu and Montpellier established their ties as the first pair of international friendship cities in Sichuan, Sichuan’s international “circle of friends” has been constantly expanding. As of May 2021, Sichuan had established a rapport with 112 international friendship cities and 280 international friendly and cooperative cities.

友城交往搭建起国际合作的广阔平台。通过建立友好城市关系，四川各市州加强和世界各地在经济、科技、文化、教育等多领域多层次的交往合作。成都蒙彼利埃小学、眉山中法农业科技园、泸州阿塞拜疆国家馆等友城交流合作成果，不断推动四川高质量发展再上新台阶。
Friendship-city exchanges provide a broad platform for international cooperation. Through the establishment of friendship city relations, Sichuan has strengthened exchanges and cooperation at all levels with other parts of the world in economy, science and technology, culture and education. The achievements in this regard include Chengdu Montpellier Primary School, Meishan Sino-French Agricultural Science and Technology Park, and Luzhou Azerbaijan National Pavilion, which have raised the high-quality development of Sichuan to a new level.

友城交往织成了增进民间友好、加强文化交流互鉴的紧密纽带。四川以深厚的历史文化底蕴，广结天下朋友，与友城互展城市别样风姿。璀璨古蜀文明、三国文化与神秘玛雅文明碰撞，让成都与梅里达惺惺相惜；彩灯为媒，为自贡照亮了与固城郡、盖亚克的友情；美酒在手，千年酒都宜宾与国际友城哥伦比亚“把酒言欢”……
Friendship-city exchanges enhance people-to-people friendship and strengthen cultural exchanges and mutual learning. Relying on its profound historical and cultural heritage, Sichuan has continuously expanded its circle of friends and shown its characteristics to its friendship cities. For example, Chengdu’s brilliant ancient Shu civilization and culture of the Three Kingdoms period blend with the mysterious Mayan civilization of Merida. Zigong’s lantern culture connects itself with Goseong-gun and Gaillac. Yibin, capital of liquor with a history of thousands of years, promotes its liquor culture to its international friendship city Columbia.

友城交往凝聚起团结信任、携手抗疫的强大力量。当全球疫情蔓延，国际友城守望相助，用实际行动践行人类命运共同体理念。疫情严峻时刻，友城间相互援助坚定了战胜疫情的信心；后疫情时代，往来受限，友城积极开辟“云端”交流“专线”，让交往“不掉线”，合作“不断档”。
Friendship-city exchanges unite efforts for the fight against COVID-19. As the epidemic sweeps the world, international friendship cities help each other and make solid efforts to build a community with a shared future for mankind. In the face of the severe epidemic, they support each other to strengthen their confidence in overcoming the epidemic. Due to limited exchanges in the post-epidemic era, friendship cities open up online channels to maintain international exchanges and cooperation.
时光流转，岁月变迁，人类寻求对外交往合作的初心始终未变！友城交往合作顺应潮流，跨越时空，续写着开放发展的时代新篇！
Despite the passage of time, we remain true to our original aspiration to seek exchanges and cooperation. Friendship-city exchanges and cooperation conform to the trend of times, get beyond the limits of time and space, and start a new era of open development!
